LMC splits games at Owens

The Lake Michigan College men's basketball team split a pair of games at the Owens Community College Tipoff Classic this past weekend in Toledo, Ohio.
The Indians dropped a 76-68 decision to Owens, which is ranked No. 7 in the nation, on Saturday before edging Triton 68-65 on Sunday to improve to 2-1 on the season.
Niles High School graduate Adam Shepherdson led LMC Saturday with 19 points, including five 3-pointers. He then scored 11 in Sunday's contest to make the All-Tournament Team.
Desmond Favors, also a Niles product, scored 11 on Saturday and 23 on Sunday, hitting five 3-pointers against Triton. He also dished out four assists on Sunday.
Corey Thacker, another Niles graduate, scored seven against Owens and nine against Triton, grabbing seven rebounds on Saturday and five on Sunday.
LMC returns to action on Friday at Macomb Community College for another two-day tournament.
