Bobcats edge Berrien Springs

Brandywine kept its playoff hopes alive by escaping with a 36-35 Lakeland Conference victory Friday night at Berrien Springs.
The Bobcats are now 4-3 overall and 4-1 in league play. Berrien Springs drops to 4-3 on the year and 2-3 in the conference.
Brandywine scored first when Aaron Holy reached the end zone on a four-yard run. Garret Semrinec kicked the extra point.
Berrien Springs answered with a 37-yard pass from Nolan Martin to Rocky Boswell. Robbie Schadt kicked the extra point.
Billy Syrette gave Brandywine another lead with a 14-yard touchdown run and Semrinec again added the extra point.
Brandywine increased its lead on a 15-yard touchdown run by Holy and an extra point by Semrinec.
Ryan Williamson then scored on a 60-yard pass from Martin and Schadt tied the game with another extra point.
The Shamrocks tied the game at 21 apiece when Martin scored on a quarterback keeper from 16 yards out and Schadt kicked another extra point.
Martin gave Berrien its first lead of the game on a two-yard keeper. This time Schadt's kick failed and the Shamrocks led 27-21.
Brandywine regained the lead on a 34-yard touchdown run by Evan Smith and Semrinec's extra point kick.
Berrien Springs once again took a lead when Josh Burge caught a 56-yard touchdown pass from Martin. Martin carried in the two-point conversion to make it 35-28.
Finally, the Bobcats scored on a nine-yard touchdown pass from Smith to Eugene Miller. Smith's two-point conversion run sealed the victory for Brandywine.
