The Niles golf team joined the rest of the teams in the Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference for the second half of the league's 36-hole tournament at Thornapple Creek in Kalamazoo Monday morning.
The Vikings finished in 13th place after a disappointing day.
Mattawan won the tournament with a team total of 644. Niles' team total was 695.
Ben Landgraf led Niles Monday with a round of 79. That score was good enough to earn him a second-place tie with two other golfers in the All-Conference standings.
Portage Northern's Brock Boven was the individual medalist for the 36-hole event with a total of 146.
Landgraf, along with Kalamazoo Central's Sam Neff and Mattawan's A.J. Musial each finished with a total of 157.
Also competing for Niles Monday were Matt Molnar with a round of 87 and Josh Flock with a round of 89. Chris Haas shot 103 while Daren Martin shot 104 and Scott Majerek shot 110.
The Niles golfers will join 15 other schools at the Division 2 Regional Tournament, hosted by Coldwater at the Coldwater Country Club, on Thursday, Oct. 9.
