The Niles 14-year-old Babe Ruth All-Star team recently competed in the state tournament in Grosse Pointe.
The team battled its way through the tournament bracket and eventually lost to Grosse Pointe South in the championship game to take home the runner-up trophy.
The tournament was highlighted by wins over L'anse Cruise 11-0, Clinton Valley 19-1, and Grosse Pointe Woods Shores 4-3.
