NILES -- The last time the Niles and Dowagiac 11-12-year-old Little League teams met, it was all Niles.
But tonight's game at Three Rivers is for all the marbles.
The Niles F.O.P. Little League 11-12-year-old All-Stars blanked Dowagiac 10-0 on Saturday in the semifinal round of the District 15 Tournament at F.O.P. Park in Niles.
From there, Dowagiac rebounded for a 7-4 win over Vicksburg at Mattawan. The victory earned the Dowagiac All-Stars a second shot at Niles in tonight's championship game, set for 6 p.m. in Three Rivers.
If Niles wins tonight, the tournament will be over and the F.O.P. All-Stars will be the champions.
If, however, Dowagiac pulls off the upset tonight, another title game will be played Wednesday night at Three Rivers at 6 p.m.
The winner of the District 15 Tournament advances to the Little League 11-12 year-old State Tournament at Mt. Pleasant on Thursday, July 24.
In other District 15 Little League action on Monday the Niles F.O.P. 7-8 year-old All-Stars opened up tournament play with a 21-14 win over the Brandywine All-Stars.
Niles takes on West Portage on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Vicksburg. Brandywine plays against Cassopolis on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Three Rivers.
