Relay for Life tourney set for July 26

Relay For Life will be holding a co-ed softball tournament on Saturday, July 26, beginning at 1 p.m.
The cost for entry is $10 per team and each team must pre-register. Each team must have five males and five females in play at all times. Each team can have up to 14 people on its roster.

Practice changed
The Michiana AAU Girls Baseball practice for Sunday, June 29 at North Side Little League in Mishawaka has been changed.
Originally the practice was scheduled from 2-4 pm. The practice will still take place at North Side Little League, but will be from 4-6 pm.

Rocket Football registration
The Dowagiac Rocket Football League will hold another sign-up on Tuesday, July 8 from 6-8 p.m. at the field on Elm Street.
This will include football players as well as cheerleaders.
Players must be present at sign-up as they will be fitted for equipment. This will be the last and final time to sign up before the draft is held and teams are chosen.
Also, the league is looking for cheerleading coaches. If you have any questions they can contact Ron Galbreath at 782-1169.
Summer camp
ST. JOSEPH -- Lakeland Rehabilitation Center, Sports Physical Therapy is hosting a summer athletic camp for male and female athletes in grades nine and above.
The camp runs for four weeks and begins on July 14. It meets on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. during the four weeks of camp. Registration for the $90 camp is going on now.
The RIP (Running to Improve Performance) Camp 2003 is designed for cross country and track runners interested in improving their running efficiency.
It is also recommended for sports where running is a key element, such as football, basketball or soccer.
The camp is open to make and female athletes, and emphasizes running efficiency, leg turnover rhythm, balance, core stability, hip strength and flexibility, and lower extremity power.
RIP camp will use functional and dynamic training, along with traditional drill work to improve running technique.
The camp will meet at Lakeland Sports Physical Therapy at 1901 Niles Avenue in St. Joseph.

Riverfest run Aug. 2
The Niles-Buchanan YMCA and 5/3 Bank are teaming up for the Niles Riverfest 5K Run &Walk on Saturday, Aug. 2.
Early registration is now taking place for this event. Register by July 7 and pay only $15. After July 7, registration will increase to $18 and will increase on race day to $20. Registration forms are available at the Niles-Buchanan YMCA.
