Local man arrested for home invasion

Dowagiac Police Chief Tom Atkinson reports the arrest of a Dowagiac man for home invasion.
On Friday, June 27, at approximately 10:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of Robinson Street for a breaking and entering that had just occurred.
The victim reported he had been sleeping when he was awakened by a man who demanded money and threatened to assault him.
The suspect took a sum of money from the victim and fled the house.
A suspect description was given and officers located a man in the area matching the description.
He was detained until the victim positively identified him as the man who robbed him.
The suspect was arrested, charged with one count of felony home invasion and lodged at the Cass County Jail.
Police withheld the suspect's name pending arraignment in Fourth District Court, Cassopolis.
