Lancers overcome 2-0 deficit to end Niles’ year

The Niles varsity soccer team's season came to an end Tuesay evening in the Division 2 District Tournament at Upton Middle School in St. Joseph.
The Lady Vikings fell 7-2 to Lakeshore to finish the season with a record of 6-10-3.
Niles jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first half. Ashley Pingel opened the scoring for the Vikings with an assist from Amber Peters just three minutes into the game.
Peters assisted the second goal as well, this time scored by Sarah Barth in the eighth minute of the game.
From that piont on, however, it was all Lakeshore as the Lancers rattled off seven unanswered goals.
Lakeshore outshot the Vikings 17-5. Robyn Althoff had three saves in goal for the Lancers while Trisha Clabaugh had 10 saves for the Vikings.
