Niles freshmen team splits twice in a row

The Niles freshmen baseball team split a doubleheader with St. Joseph Friday afternoon, edging the Bears 1-0 in the opener and falling 3-1 in the second game.
Nick Etzcorn earned the pitching victory for Niles in the first game.
Kyle Kennedy led teh hitting attack with two singles. Grant Goodman, Jeremy Vincent and Nate Parks each added a single.
Tom Robson had the Vikings' only hit of the second game.
Vincent took the loss with relief help from Anthony Saviano.
The Niles freshmen are now 7-12 on the year.
The Niles freshmen also split a doubleheader with Edwardsburg Thursday afternoon, losing the opener 4-0 before winning the seocond game 1-0.
Robson took the loss for Niles in the first game. The Vikings did not have any hits against the Eddies in that game.
Mason Stephenson picked up the win in the second game. Parks led Niles at the plate with two doubles. Vincent and Kennedy each added a single.
