Team registration is under way, and entry forms and brochures can be picked up at the following Gus Macker sponsor locations: Rock 107, Domino's Pizza, Fifth Third Bank, the Clarion Hotel, or Pure-Fact Water. Information can also be picked up at the Southwest Michigan Junior Achievement office. The event's presenting sponsor is Whirlpool.
All teams must pre-register to play in the event. Entries must be postmarked by May 30, and on-line entries must be submitted by June 2. The fun kicks off Saturday morning at 8 a.m. with opening ceremonies, after that, watch a fun-filled day of dribbling, passing, and baskets. For those not playing in the tournament, there is still much to do. Kids can have fun playing on the Kidz Kourt, bouncing in the NASCAR moonwalk and meeting the Gus Macker mascot. Everyone will be able to enjoy great food from area vendors. Games will wrap up Saturday at approximately 6 p.m. and begin again at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
This is the fourth year the tournament has been played in St. Joseph, and all proceeds from the event go to Southwest Michigan Junior Achievement.
