Upton closes lead in forecasters chase

It was another tough weekend for most of the Daily News Football Forecasters.

Only three forecasters posted records of 7-3 or better.

Niles Athletic Director Jeff Upton led the way with an 8-2 mark, while Daily Star Sports Editor Scott Novak and Brandywine Superintendent John Jarpe were both 7-3.

Upton was able to close the gap between himself and Novak to two games.

Novak is now 58-22 heading into this week’s action, while Upton is 56-24 overall.

Third place belongs to Jarpe at 54-26.

Holding down fourth place are Allison Hayes and Antwon Jones, who are tied at 53-27.

Dennis Cooper rounds out the top five with a record of 52-28.

Sixth place belongs to Niles Daily Star Publisher Michael Caldwell, who is 50-30.
