Hinkelman elected chair of Berrien County Commissioners
Published 10:53am Monday, January 7, 2013Jon Hinkelman, second district, was elected chairperson of the Berrien County Board of Commissioners during Thursday’s regular meeting.
Marletta Seats, third district, was elected the board’s vice-chairperson.
The appointments took place during the board’s first meeting of the year. New board members this year include Neal Nitz of Baroda, John Klimek of Niles, and Jim Curran of Niles.
The board also made the following committee appointments:
Administration Committee — Mac Elliot, chair; Seats, vice-chair; Cathy Thieneman and Curran.
Finance Committee — Neil Nitz, chair; Mamie L. Yarbrough, vice-chair; Debra Panozzo and Bob Wooley.
Personnel and Human Services Committee — Andy Vavra, chair; Jeanette Leahey, vice-chair; and Klimek.
