Mister Cordero “Mida” Williams-el, of Elkhart, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, in Elkhart General Hospital. He was born Dec. 13, 1986, in Kalamazoo to Edmond Williams-el and Kimberly Joiner. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Lela Mendoza; a grandmother, Marie Broussard; a grandfather, Edmond Williams; an aunt, Catherine Williams; an uncle, Darryl Sykes; an uncle, Henry Williams; one sister, Portia Williams-el; one brother, Ibn Williams-el; and his godmother, Dorothy King.
Mida graduated from Ross Beatty High School, Cassopolis. He attended KVCC in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids Community College in Grand Rapids. He was a good brother and friend. He had an outgoing personality and his goofiness always made people laugh. He was a wonderful father and had a way with the ladies. He thought he was “L’il Wayne.”
Mida will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his father, Edmond Williams-el of Chicago, and his mother, Kimberly Y. Joiner, of Dowagiac; two daughters, Aesha Williams-el, Alesha Williams-el; one son, Corde’ Williams-el, and twin boys on the way; a grandfather, Arthur Broussard of Elkhart, Ind.; a grandmother, Velma Williams, of Chicago; five sisters, Malika (Joey) White of Chicago, Victoria Robinson, of Minnesota, Joan Alicia Williams, of Chicago, JoAnne Williams, of Chicago, and Jacqueline McCullough, of Dowagiac, six brothers, LaMonte’ (Doreen) Joiner of Cassopolis; Ahmed Williams-el of Munising, Amin Williams-el of Ionia, Jordan Lee of Niles, DaShaun Curtis of Cassopolis, Ashton Danzy; aunts, Cheri (Maurice) Thomas, of Dowagiac, Cheryl (Ozell) Green, of Dowagiac, Sava Sykes, of Elkhart, Ind., Keisha Maclin, of Atlanta, Ga. Dyetha (Ann) Mendoza of Elkhart, Ind., Jessie Mae Williams, of Chicago, Christina Williams, of Chicago, Josephine Williams, of Minnesota, Maria Williams, of Minnesota, Linda Cook, of Chicago, and Kari Auer, of Dowagiac; unclesMichael (Saisha) Joiner of Chicago, Keith (Murla) Joiner, of Elkhart, Ind., Andre (Mona Lisa) Broussard, of Elkhart, Ind., Quandell Broussard of Elkhart, Ind., Ricky Dean Williams, of Minnesota; a god sister, Porcha McKinley of Chicago; a special person in his life, Shonte Sanders, of Vandalia; two great-nieces, one great-nephew and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, December 1, 2012, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in Church of Cassopolis, 520 Pearl St., Cassopolis, with the Apostle Christopher Pittman officiating. Mida will be laid to rest in Calvin Township Cemetery.
The family prefers memorial contributions to his mother, Kimberly Joiner, to help with final expenses.
