Lakeland offers free classes on recognizing heart attacks

Lakeland HealthCare will present “Act in Time…To Heart Attack Signs” in Niles and St. Joseph in October.

  • Tuesday, October 9, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Buchanan Area Health Resource Library, Lakeland Community Hospital, Niles, 31 N. St. Joseph Avenue

 

  • Thursday, October 11, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Lakeland Community Health Resource Library, Center for Outpatient Services, St. Joseph, 3900 Hollywood Road

During the free classes, participants will learn vital information including:

  • How the heart functions
  • What is a heart attack?
  • Heart attack warning signs
  • The importance of rapid treatment for heart attack (Calling 9-1-1)
  • What to do if warning signs happen
  • How to reduce your risk of heart disease
