By the time you read this you will have seen reports that President Obama has surged to a significant lead in the critical swing states like Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Florida and is on his way to a second term barring…
People are seeing that Mitt Romney is going the way of Bob Dole, only worse. Much worse. Only a desperate man would attack a U.S. president to score political points while the U.S. consulate in Libya was under fire. The eruption of Muslim zealots over a poorly made movie by a radical religious “Coptic Christian” ended in the senseless deaths of four Americans, including our ambassador. Then Romney said he would keep some parts of Obamacare. Then Republican zealots erupted in protest after Romney committed an unforgivable heresy in their eyes. So Mitt walked backwards on his Obamacare comments the next day.
People are beginning to see that Romney is not only wishy-washy, but he is nothing but a tool of the billionaires whose outrageous self-interests, greed and pursuit of power far outweigh the consequences for America’s future. It’s all about their future — their wealth, their children — not ours.
But Democrats who rejoice at the thought of Romney going down are seriously shortsighted.
What happens if the Republicans keep control of the House of Representatives? Or maybe take control of the Senate?
If both happens then Gridlock I that you saw during the past four years will be followed by an even more horrendous Gridlock II, The Sequel, during a second Obama Administration.
Time and again you have witnessed the Republican Party’s game plan of intransigence and obstructionism that emerged one week after Obama was sworn into office. If President Obama is re-elected this ugly strategy will return, this time with a vengeance. Make no mistake about it: the 21st Century version of the Republican Party has embraced a take-no-prisoners, win-at-all-costs approach approaching fanaticism. It bears no resemblance to the Republican Party of yesteryear and those class-act icons like Nelson Rockefeller, Lowell Weicker, Chuck Percy, Everett Dirksen and the elder Romney — George.
We have seen the party of John Boehner and Mitch McConnell obstruct reasonable efforts to strengthen the economy because it might make President Obama look good. Then they exploit the economy’s weakness for political gain just as Romney tried to exploit the violence at the U.S. consulate to score political points.
These are scary times. You have already heard the outrageous statements from the far right wing of the Republican Party too numerous to mention in this letter. These are not bizarre, off-the-cuff comments. These are declarations of intent.
You can’t stop this horrific vision of America by just re-electing Barack Obama. He needs people on his side. You already have seen what gridlock has done to Washington. You want that again?
Moderate, thoughtful voters who lean Republican have a huge decision to make on Nov 6. I hope their conscience guides them when they enter that booth and vote in secrecy.

Typical liberal. Short memory, you had the first two years as a majority and got nothing done! What happened to bringing everyone together? A leader would figure a way to unite everyone, WITHOUT all the excuses and blame game.

Just so you know the democrates are in change of the Senate. Therefore, it is bipartisanship do-nothing congress. If you havent read about it the democrates have not passed a budget in 1,200 days. I love Harry Reid! So please read the paper BEFORE posting aimless ramblings!

Simple fact is, Romney had ILLEGAL FOREIGN BANK ACCOUNTS.
In 2009 he filed for IRS AMNESTY to avoid prosecution.
That’s why he won’t release the 2009 tax records.
He is a TAX SCOFFLAW~! (google it!)
And if he fudged or mis represented ANYTHING in that Amnesty filing>? HE WOULD BE IMPEACHABLE ON THE FIRST DAY OF A ROMNEY ADMINISTRATION. And the Republicans that are Obstructionist are just working to prevent our country’s economic recovery. And THAT, is un AMERICAN~!
Good comments Wayne. Republicans dug this hole and it’s up to the current “Man in Charge” to get us out. Remember Bush and the road to destruction he and other republican’s drove us into. Remember to vote to keep the republican racists out of office. This President, Obama is leading us out of this mess, created by republican’s can’t be solved over night. I praise a self made man that has taken on the problems of this country to the betterment despite the obstructionist that would rather see out country driven into the ground as to have a black man restore us to our glory.
Thank God the Republicans are standing up to the idiot that was elect as president. They are the last defense against a tyranical socialist who plans on destroying America. In addition, if Wayne had not been living under a bridge for the past four years he would know that his statements are WRONG! Just so you know the ATTACKS on our embasy were an act of war carried out by an ARMED MILITIA. These were not sad muslems protesting but a planned attaack. Therefore, apologizing for this is plan old appeasement and we know from history how well that has worked. The democrates had TOTAL control of the government for the first two years that poor obama was in office. His policies are what has failed America. He needs to stop blamming and start governing.

Twisted? I think Mr. Falda’s opinion is actually very accurate – the truth must hurt. I must say, however, your Republican reaction is quite typical of the EXACT situation he is describing. You cannot even tolerate an OPINION that is contrary to your own, and your response is to say “I won’t read the leader anymore if it is published”. This is EXACTLY the way that Mitch McConnell and John Boehner have obstructed any chance the president has to move the country forward by their extremist right wing based refusal to compromise at all, on anything, and to then make sure that nothing makes it through the house, where they have the majority, or the Senate, where they filibuster, and keep the country locked in gridlock. Ronald Reagan must be spinning in his grave to see his party so decimated by these whacked out extremists – this was not how he governed AT ALL.

Do you even pay attention to the idiocy that the obama has been doing? You say he want to compromise but that does not mean that we all bow down to him. Instead compromise if finding a middle ground. Case in point: Heath Care debacle, he did not hold hearings, he did not ask for suggestions and instead just rammed it through. Now we have higher costs, fewer Doctors, and a system just waiting to fail. THAT’S WHAT I CALL BEING A BOOB.
However, I know that you will not look objectively at the facts and will instead just Drink You democrat Kool-Aid. If you tried you would understand that we ARE suffering under the leadership of this fool. Household income DOWN $4,000 under obama, nation debt up 6 TRILLION DOLLARS under obama, 25 Million more people on Food Stamps under obama, and on and on.
