What type of business do you operate — what you sell, services provided? Beauty salon — We provide tanning; most hair services; waxing; some trendy services such as feathers, colored hair extensions and glitter body art. We also sell Paul Mitchell, Redken, Sexy Hair and Opi products.
What sets your business apart from similar ventures? For one thing, the longevity of our salon, 50-plus years, is a long time for any business, especially salons. It is also family-owned and we are on our fourth-generation stylist.
What customers do you reach? We feel we have a spot for all clients. We have employees in their 20s on up. We keep up on new styles and fads by going to hair shows, but we also have the skills for the more mature woman.

I remember when Rana’s Hair Fashion Studio was in Eastgate Shopping Center. Rana and Mr. Pat were regular customers at my dad’s store, Western Auto. And all the ‘Western Auto’ women went to Rana’s for our hair cuts and styling. I had Mr. Pat do my hair when I was getting my senior picture done back in 1965. Congratulations to the new generation and good luck to you all.
