Chieftain netters get tuned up
Published 10:47pm Tuesday, May 15, 2012Visiting Niles was too much for the Dowagiac tennis team in the final tune up for both schools before Thursday’s regional tournament.
The Vikings defeated the Chieftains 7-1, winning in straight sets in six of their seven flights.
Dowagiac’s lone victory came at No. 3 singles where Sydney Foote defeated Autumn Payne 6-2 and 6-1.
“The team did not play so well tonight,” Dowagiac coach Curtis Partee said. “We have played a lot of tennis this week. Not taking anything away from Niles, Niles is a very good team.”
