Published 9:18am Tuesday, November 17, 2009Richard M. Bressler, 99, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at Fulton Manor in Grand Rapids.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, at First United Methodist Church in Dowagiac.
Richard was born in Chicago, Ill., on Jan. 19, 1910, to Malcom and Margaret Bressler.
Mr. Bressler is survived by: his wife, Bertene Roth of Grand Rapids; a daughter, Priscilla (Al) Tew of Lebanon, Tenn.; a son, Richard L. (Margo) Bressler of Dowagiac; a stepson, Jim Roth of Columbus, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Mary Roth (Dan) Wallace of Cascade; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was prececed in death by: his parents; a brother, Dean; his first wife, Virginia; and a grandson, Jeff.
