Ardith Edith Kaiser / June 10, 1927 – Nov. 6, 2009Published 8:51am Saturday, November 14, 2009
Ardith Edith Kaiser, 82, born in Gary, Ind. and formerly of Niles, passed away peacefully at the Beatrice Hover Assisted Living Home, Longmont, Colo. with her daughters at her side.
Ardy met Fay Eugene Kaiser on Indian Lake in Dowagiac when he returned from Pearl Harbor. They were married in 1947 in Gary. Settling in Niles for a lifetime, she enjoyed Monday Reading Club, Niles Service League, Town and Country Dance Club and was an avid reader and boater. They both enjoyed snow skiing, fishing on Lake Michigan and spending time on Indian Lake, where they finally settled for their retirement years.
But most of all, she loved to dance, still dancing at every Hover Home party until she passed. No she is truly dancing with the stars.
Survivors include daughter Mary Lou McManaman and her husband, Dr. Richard McManaman, of Longmont, Colo., and his children, Katie Hale and her husband, Joe, of Thornton, Colo., and Barry McManaman and his wife, Kerry, of Somerdale, N.J; daughter Katheleen Elghammer and her husband, Garry Elghammer, of Niles, and her grandson, Major Chet Bryant, and his wife, Capt. Elaine Bryant, and two great-great-grandchildren, Cody and Christian Bryant, of Colorado Springs; a niece, Dee Dee Sill Butler and her husband, Robert, of Federal Way, Wash.
She was preceded in death by Fay on Jan. 22, 2004, and her sister, Evelyn Sill, of Tucson, Ariz.
