He was born Jan. 1, 1956, to Reda and Lee Johnson.
He was a devoted husband for 32 years to Debbie (Akers) Johnson, a proud father to his daughter, Jamie Lee, 29, and his son, Jake, 23, and loving brother to Toni Severns and Dorothy Johnson.
Capt. Dave of Quick Release Charters was a longtime member of Michiana Steelheaders and a proud employee at Town Air Freight.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations in Dave’s memory be forwarded to Hospice at Home Inc., 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085.
In accordance with Dave’s wishes, a private family service will be held.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
