Dirt bike rider injured in Jefferson

CASSOPOLIS – Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that on Friday, Aug. 21, at 6:32 p.m., his office handled a personal injury crash at a residence in the 26000 block of Yankee St. in Jefferson Township, Cass County.

Korie Holliday, 17, of Edwardsburg was riding a dirt bike on private trails when he lost control of his vehicle crashing into the brush and trees outlining the trail. He was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment and is in stable condition. He was wearing his helmet and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

Assisting the Sheriff’s office were Life Care Ambulance and Edwardsburg Fire Department.
