THREE RIVERS – The Dowagiac varsity golf team finished seventh in its first Wolverine Conference Jamboree, hosted by Three Rivers on Monday morning.

The Chieftains shot 240 as a squad.

Vicksburg won the jamboree at Pine View Golf Course with a score of 198.

Paw Paw was second with a 215, while Gull Lake finished third with a 215 and Otsego fourth with a 219.

Rounding out the order of finish were Three Rivers (220), Plainwell (227), Dowagiac, South Haven (242), Comstock (244) and Allegan (253).

South Haven’s Cortney Gumpert earned medalist honors after shooting a 42.

Dowagiac was led by Haley Smith’s 52. Maggie Cripe and Lauren Smith both shot 62, while Cassie Stone finished with a 64.

The Chieftains also got an 80 from Erin Corey.

Dowagiac will host the Wolverine Conference on Wednesday morning at Indian Lake Hills Golf Course. Play is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m.
