Freddie L. Wilson / 1929-2009
Published 9:17am Thursday, August 20, 2009Freddie L. Wilson, 80, of Platt Street, Niles, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at Riveridge Manor, Niles.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 20, at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles, with Chaplain Johnny Groda of In House Hospice, officiating.
Burial will be in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Niles.
Friends may call one hour prior to services.
He was born on July 19, 1929, in Memphis, Tenn., to Willie Wilson and Vanada McKenny Wilson.
He lived in Niles since 1948, coming from Arkansas. He retired from Electrovoice in Buchanan.
On Oct. 8, 1950, in Niles, he married Charlene P. (Jeffries) Wilson, who died on April 15, 2005.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Tracy L. Wilson, who died on Nov. 17, 2003.
Surviving family includes two sons, Britt I. Wilson of Amsterdam, Netherlands and Jerome F. (Lisa Hassinger, DVM) Wilson of Williamston; granddaughters, Erin L. Wilson, Magdalena Wilson, Hanna Zarbinian, and Arianna Zarbinian; grandsons, Justin C. Wilson Jesse Wilson and Richard Calkins; a special grandson, Levi Goens; great-granddaughters, Annalise Wilson and Natalia Suddeth and two great-grandsons, Justin Wilson, Jr. and Marquis Jones.
Memorial contributions may be made to In House Hospice, 5360 Holiday Terrace Suite 24 A, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.

I didn’t know Freddie as much as I knew and loved his wife and son, but I alwats knew him to be a loving husband, father and grandfather. We will miss him. He is in heaven with Charlene and Tracy now. RIP all three of you. I miss you all.
